Fausto Maxia was born in the mining village of San Giovanni, in the municipality of Iglesias, on 1 May 1957 and subsequently lived on the Island of Elba, in Martina Franca (the city where he obtained his classical high school diploma) and in Genoa, where he studied Sanskrit and Indian literatures, History of Contemporary Art and History of Oriental Art and graduated in philosophy, with a thesis on the doctrine of the Void in Zen Buddhism.
Self-taught artist, in over forty years of activity he has participated in collective and personal exhibitions and, in 2019, in the MacroAsilo project by Giorgio De Finis, when he was in charge of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome.
He is a member of the ‘Alea Contemporary Art’ association of engravers in Rome.
