Ottavia Marchiori

Visual artist and editorial illustrator specializing in collage, analog and mixed media.

Her artistic path is an atypical and non-academic one. She discovered the practice of collage during childhood and then approached it again during the time of the pandemic, electing it as a privileged form of expression of her own artistic production. She loves the playfulness, the versatility, the democratic nature of this art, the possibility that it offers to create, through the dialogue between elements, a kaleidoscope of infinite visual narratives.

In a world dominated by digital, for Ottavia making analog collages represents a form of resistance to the role of passivity imposed by certain technology. Use the senses, recover the taste for manual skills to exercise critical and dynamic control over reality.

She has numerous collaborations with magazines as an illustrator (currently her contributions appear in Donna Moderna, Italy), group and personal exhibition. Her works, aimed at a constant openness to experimentation, are spontaneous, surreal, with a distinctly feminine and pop feel, often permeated with humour: they reflect her vision of her life and her approach to it.
