Luca Tomassini, alias Tomas, was born in Asti in 1970.
He attended the Art Institute and the Academy of Fine Arts in Macerata; currently he lives and paints in San Ginesio, in the province of Macerata.
Tomas is a visual artist distinguished by a long career, many works and various participations in prizes and exhibitions, including international ones, as well as the creator of the mixed “paintollage” technique, which blends painting and collage on canvases, even large ones.
His painting is imagination. He evokes environments that could be part of a dream. He uses symbols, allusions, dream figures.
Sometimes he escapes reality and transports himself to a different world. A world that could be an ancestral past or a near future. He interprets humanity’s heritage through unseen metaphors and elevates humanity to divinity.
He is a type of visionary who uses brushes and canvases to build new universes to represent and communicate something in his paintings. A sort of thing that extends to the future bringing myths and allegories, and reinterpreting them in a post-contemporary key.
His paintings are enriched by virtual reality experiences specially prepared by Giuliana Guazzaroni. Independent researcher in the fields of arts, education and virtual reality. PhD in Technology Enhanced Learning at the Polytechnic University of Marche.
